So do we create the Gawds? ( I refuse to call them Gods. Is it possible that we, ignorant in our own powers create the Gawds that rule us. Is it possible our thought forms create a semi-reality being that does what we expect him/her to do? Could mass worship create a force that thinks that it is real? Can this Gawd die when it is forgotten? Does this Gawd believe it is real and think it is the true creator? I am a bit turned off by the whole alien god thing. Future posts coming and please chime in.

The book American gods explores this, the idea of thought/belief creating, and maintaining the gods Days before his release from prison, Shadow's wife, Laura, dies in a mysterious car crash. Numbly, he makes his way back home. On the plane, he encounters the enigmatic Mr Wednesday, who claims to be a refugee from a distant war, a former god and the king of America. Together they embark on a profoundly strange journey across the heart of the USA, whilst all around them a storm of preternatural and epic proportions threatens to break.
