Do the deities, Gods, and angels exist and if they do, how should we examine them? This question is the cornerstone of almost every significant metaphysical or theological discussion. Whether or not these entities exist in a tangible form, it is clear that they do exist and exert influence over individuals in an idealized way. These entities live in the prayers, stories, and the mantras of the people who believe in them; since these stories have an influence over how the individual contextualizes their life, provide the cultural archetypes for behavior and have an impact over how they interact with the world, we can clearly say that these entities exist in a metaphysical sense. In this sense, I believe that the deities and the archetypes of mythology and spiritual traditions are very real in some sense; this is evidenced by the amount of influence they exert over individuals and groups of people today.
On an individual level thought forms are the psychic (or spiritual) entities that exist within a persons consciousness or subconscious, these entities create the individual’s world view, controlling how they view themselves and the world around them, deciding what actions are best suited to a situation, and creating the basis for how the individual interacts with the world around them. From a more sterile psychological approach, thought forms are neurological and psychological elements of the mind that dictate preferences, create the decision-making apparatus of the mind, and control how the individual interacts with the world around them.
