Ya know now that you mention it why would a site be so interested in someone's ancestry? I don't know anything past my grandparents and one great grandmother. I am happy with that

Or maybe they want to make sure that if you do have royal blood, they wouldn't accidentally bump you off in another false flag event.
Matchmaking candidates for perfect children?
Screening potential criminals?
Searching for the Holy Grail? (Actually, I remember hearing something a while back about how they actually traced the bloodlines of Jesus down to a couple of folks living somewhere nearby....)

Giving away your DNA freely is a lot less heckle than abducting you, and cheaper...
Edit: What can they do with your DNA? Never ask questions you don't want the answer to...
