So now Proboards has announced it will act if they see misinformation.....
Conveniently there is no definition of what misinformation constitutes....
These are interesting times indeed...... Mar 19, 2020 at 2:41am Craig, Shady, and 54 more like this

Tbh some of the forum posts here could be seen as quite harmful imo.
However it is open speech and discussion and as long as maybe a disclaimer is added i dont see it as wrong as discussing things. Not allowing any sort of discussion from non-authoritative sources sounds much like censorship to me. Another point is isn't like the WHO is a uncritcisable source which does so much to please the likes of china. Some part of its funding is from there and they made sure to make china seem like the hero in history. While refusing to help taiwan.

At this point there are more questions than there are answers. WB pointed us to a video showing empty care facilities and I saw an empty emergency room. Today at work I watched a bit of news and they were showing some of the temporary med facilities and the big hospital ship in New York. All empty as of now it appeared.
Do understand I don't necessarily trust whistle blowers anymore than I do any other kind of reporting. There is always a possiblle motive including the quest for the almighty buck $$ and a bit a fame. Not saying all of them of course but deceptive forces will use any and all methods to deceive.

"Recently there have been some discussions on this forum relating to this crisis, including some posts which contained misinformation."
This forum got flagged by Proboard and then they tell not to use an adblocker so that they can make money? LMAO. Seriously, it's comedy.

On the one hand, it is understandable that no board should tolerate DEADLY false information suggesting the use of combinations of deadly chemicals, cleaners, etc, taken internally.
At the same time however, germophobia is overkill and an excuse for the denial of democratic and constitutional rights. What good are human rights or a constitution, if we can say we have declared an emergency so citizens NO longer have any rights. To make matters worse, the NEW normal RULES are being made up by un-elected and poorly educated bureaucrats.
1. Masks as required in public places(Michegan and elsewhere). Doctors have indicated that masks have very limited value and only to those who are working closely with COVID patients...if the patient is wearing the mask.
2. The Fed and the Bank of Canada have both indicated that money contains NO more germs than the average inside door handle and no one has seen large numbers of cashiers with the pandemic.
3. Dumps for household waste are closed...why?..spreading garbage around town is SAFER??
4. It seems municipal bureaucrats would prefer to deal with diseased pets than to see them healthy and well groomed. Threated fine is $100,000 for cleaning up and clipping your dog.
5. First grocery stores forced customers to buy their own bags. NOW using the pandemic as an excuse they will NOT accept customers bags.
6. The most inefficient waste of money on germ protection is when millions are being spent on protective masks, cleaners, and other equipment in a village of 250 people.

I do suggest that you look into these two links above. I’ve been finding out about this treasonous crap since my mid twenties and have lived it in these so called courts of justice. They like making us believe that we have rights but it is all an illusion. It’s been one grand fraud from the start. They pile one lie upon another one and just keep it going because people are too trusting of their public servants. We as sovereign people are the bosses and the public servants think that they are the ones in charge. We need to grow up and stop being conned by the cons.

reutersinstitute.politics.ox.ac.uk/risj-review/healing-words-how-press-freedom-being-threatened-coronavirus-pandemicsed to protect free speech and media freedom. Most strikingly, Hungary has passed an indefinite emergency decree, effectively suspending parliamentary democracy and a prison sentence of up to five years for spreading “false information,” adding what many journalists fear will be another weapon on the government’s attack against independent journalism. In Jordan too the government has legislation designed for war, disaster or epidemics that gives the Prime Minister "control of messages, newspapers, publications, drawings, and all means of expression, propaganda and advertising before they are published to seize, confiscate, disable them and close places of their preparation." Reporters in the region say the law is already having a chilling effect, with journalists self-censoring for fear of retribution. Israel too has used emergency legislation to vastly increase its power of surveillance of its own population. In the UK, the Doctors Association found evidence that doctors and nurses in the country’s public hospitals were being told by their management not to speak out about shortages in personal protective equipment. www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-52363305?intlink_from_url=https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/topics/c55343wlkkgt/freedom-of-expression&link_location=live-reporting-storyLeaders could "take advantage of the fact that politics are on hold, the public is stunned and protests are out of the question, in order to impose measures that would be impossible in normal times," he said. www.ejiltalk.org/viral-misinformation-and-the-freedom-of-expression-part-i/It is not only that a fair balance must be struck between potentially competing rights and interests. It is that protecting the freedom of expression is actually essential for effectively combatting the pandemic, and that unjustified suppression of speech can, just like the untrammelled dissemination of viral misinformation, lead to more deaths in the long run. Censorship is no small part of the origin story of this virus, and such efforts appear to be continuing. Preserving the role of journalists as public watchdogs and protecting whistleblowers is crucial to exposing serious errors or lack of resources in the health system, not for the purpose of assigning blame, but for ensuring that such errors are rectified as soon as possible. It is particularly questionable in that regard to impose blanket bans on health professionals for speaking out publicly on the conditions in their workplaces. --- In the Uk at least has been stated it will try to protect free speech as much as possible that is their policy. Even while they want to counter misinformation to some extent. Because many people make theories online for profit and money. Or they for example pretend to be the government as a joke or scam for money. But the thing is private platforms on the internet and businesses can do whatever they like.

The Washington Times posted some articles with some good critical views on this entire Covid19 hype in which they are questioning the response to this virus thing. Sweden's (and recently also Denmark) response is indeed a much more common sense one, in favor of the immune system and well-being of the population. www.washingtontimes.com/news/2020/apr/28/coronavirus-hype-biggest-political-hoax-in-history/ The new coronavirus is real. The response to the coronavirus is hyped. And in time, this hype will be revealed as politically hoaxed. In fact, COVID-19 will go down as one of the political world’s biggest, most shamefully overblown, overhyped, overly and irrationally inflated and outright deceptively flawed responses to a health matter in American history, one that was carried largely on the lips of medical professionals who have no business running a national economy or government. The facts are this: COVID-19 is a real disease that sickens some, proves fatal to others, mostly the elderly — and does nothing to the vast majority. That’s it. www.washingtontimes.com/news/2020/apr/27/eighty-percent-of-the-population-has-little-or-not/ It is wrong to restrict the freedoms of everyone, destroy economic prosperity, and in many cases deny people the opportunity to work — all in the name of “saving their lives” while, in fact, more than 80 percent of the population has little or nothing to fear from the coronavirus. The restrictions on those younger than 65 years of age should be lifted immediately. Approximately 2.8 million Americans die each year out of a population of 330 million, which means the average American has about one out of 118 chances of dying in any given year, from all causes. Those over 65 have about one chance in 33 of dying, while those who are 30 or younger have less than one chance in a thousand of dying, again from all causes. Deaths from COVID-19 are even more skewed in favor of the young. Those who are 24 or younger have about one chance in a million of dying from COVID-19 (almost too small to measure). Those who are 65 or over have about one chance in 1,250 of dying from COVID-19 — a very small fraction of all of the other things that will kill them. Recent studies have shown that the virus is far more widespread, far less lethal, and probably started much earlier than previously thought. Given that tens of millions have been exposed and infected without even knowing it, makes the idea of trying to trace who infected who a fool’s errand. Studies are now showing that sunlight kills the virus. (Golly, who would even guess that sunlight and fresh air would be healthy?) Despite knowing that sunlight is a disinfectant, those clever doctors at the CDC said we should all hide indoors. To make sure that we were not exposed to sunlight and fresh air, many Big Brother governors decided that parks, golf courses and beaches should be closed to taxpaying citizens for public safety, when just the opposite is the truth. It may be a good idea not to cluster in large groups. But those who like to play act being members of the Gestapo, rather than say to their fellow citizens, “don’t cluster in large groups and stay away from others, particularly if you are coughing and sneezing” — deny them the courtesy of treating them like adults who are wise enough to take sensible precautions once they are given the information. Sweden took a much more civilized approach to the COVID-19 problem than most of the rest of the world. Rather than punish their citizens by denying them the ability to work and many of the pleasures of life, they have opted for a light touch rather than the heavy foot of the state. Swedes are kept up to date as to the current medical findings and common-sense recommendations like doing such things as frequent hand washing, wiping down surfaces that are touched by many, avoiding large clusters, spacing tables in restaurants and elsewhere, etc.

As one who has been working through most of this mess I shake my head at the damage done. So many out of work and some of those had jobs that are not coming back. Thankfully Texas started re-opening Friday. My workplace was one of the few that stayed open and we were (and still are) mobbed with customers. As one who occasionally goes out and manages the lines waiting to get in I have seen this bring out the best in a lot of folks. Real people asking each other (and me) if they are ok. I have also noticed The self centered non-humans causing arguments and aggravation for those trying to get through it all.
I agree with Blossom that this virus was around a lot longer than folks realize. I was sick just before this all broke out and so were others I know. It is one thing to quarantine a sick person but to quarantine the healthy is yet another powerplay by the control freaks. Hopefully this will bring a increased awareness regarding the sanitation of public shared areas. Also if one wakes up feeling crappy? Stay home! There is no badge of honor to be received by going to work or school sick exposing others to your ailment.
